UBM publishes more than 90 print magazine titles, the majority of which are controlled circulation magazines. We believe print magazines continue to play an important, albeit significantly diminished, role in serving specific professional and commercial communities. We recognise that many professional and commercial communities are over-served with print publications such that available advertising revenue – the principle funder of controlled circulation magazines – is sufficient only to support one or two leading print titles in the longer term.

In light of this market view we continue to review our print magazine portfolio systematically to ensure we have a commercially sustainable set of leading titles. We see growing compatibility between the traditional advertising platform provided by print magazines and rapidly-evolving online marketing services as clients look to run integrated, cross-media marketing campaigns and as publications migrate their content and readership online.
