Responsible for overseeing and growing UBM's business throughout North and South America
Scott Schulman was appointed CEO of UBM Americas in March 2016 after spending more than 25 years in the information, media and business services industries. Most recently, as President of Rodale, he led a transformation of the health and wellness media company to drive global growth in digital sites, mobile tools and new product launches. Prior to this, Scott spent 13 years at Dow Jones & Company, where he served in a series of operating roles in which he drove new strategies and product solutions to provide customers with critical information to help them conduct their business. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Responsible for all financial operations for UBM Americas
David brings a wealth of international financial experience to his role at UBM. Prior to joining UBM as CFO, David spent over 20 years with The Economist Group working across the globe in both finance and broader commercial roles – from internal auditing for the Economist Intelligence Unit’s East European business in Vienna, Austria at the outset of his career, to managing the Group’s shared services function. He went on to lead and develop Economist Events globally from New York for several years, and most recently served as SVP & CFO of the Global Media Businesses for The Economist. David holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from the University of Coventry and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with Deloitte & Touche in London. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Board Member of British American Business.
Responsible for overseeing product, production and marketing for UBM Americas’ overall business.
Brian has overseen large-scale multimedia product launches and migrations, leading-edge data profiling initiatives and business development efforts. He has further experience in traditional broadcast media and leveraging broadcast to benefit digital product in his experience working as the COO of the New Products Group at Turner Broadcasting. Brian has had several leadership positions at Omnicom, VOY and StarMedia, where his marketing, deal-making and financial modeling experience were utilized along side of his team building, operations and product skills. Brian holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University, a M.M. from The Juilliard School, and a B.A. (Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Connecticut College.
Responsible for the delivery of UBM America’s HR strategy in both North and South America, maximizing the performance and potential of individuals, teams and the business.
Michele Corrente brings more than 25 years of strategic human resources experience to her role as Senior Vice President, Human Resources, for UBM Americas. Prior to joining UBM, Michele held a series of progressively senior positions with Time Warner Cable, most recently serving as Group Vice President, Human Resources, where she served a group of nearly 55,000 employees and managed a team of 250 HR Business Partners. Before this, Michele worked in a number of domestic and international HR management roles, with large companies such as AOL and DirecTV Latin America. Michele holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Labor Relations from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., a graduate certification in HR Management from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and a Master’s Degree in HR Development from Clemson University.

Tim joined UBM in 2014 and is responsible for strategic planning and M&A across the US, Brazil and Mexico. Prior to joining UBM, Tim spent nine years working for AMR International, a strategy consultancy specializing in business-to-business media and events. While at AMR, he founded the firm’s New York office in 2005 and supported UBM with multiple due diligence and strategy assignments. He holds a BA in History from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from HEC Paris.

Responsible for driving the Events First strategy within UBM Americas and managing and developing a portfolio of industry-leading event brands within the cruise, catering and chemical verticals.
Aharon Shamash has been the SVP of Transformation for UBM Americas as well as the Managing Director of the Cruise, Catering and Chemicals Portfolio since November 2015. Prior to this role, Aharon was the Senior Managing Director of UBM Canon, UBM Medica and UBM Mexico, and before this served as CFO of UBM Connect after holding a series of progressively senior positions within UBM. Before coming to UBM, Aharon was a Senior Manager at KPMG LLP. Aharon holds a Bachelor of Science, Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany, and is a New York State Certified Public Accountant.
Responsible for all aspects of event production for UBM Americas including all relationships with vendors, venues, hotels, and other partners.
Tony Calanca brings more than 30 years experience with large-scale domestic and international trade and consumer exhibitions and conferences to his role as Executive Vice President, Exhibitions, for UBM Americas. Previously with Advanstar Communications, Inc., Tony was responsible for the growth of the trade exhibitions in the Fashion, Licensing, Life Sciences, and Powersports and Automotive industries. Before this, Tony was Senior Vice President at Reed Exhibitions running a $90 million division, and also co-founded an entrepreneurial trade show firm, Infinity Expo Group. Tony graduated with a degree in Business from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.

Marco brings more than 20 years of technology media experience and leadership to his role at UBM. As Managing Director of the business technology event division he manages and develops a portfolio of industry-leading event brands, which includes Interop, Cloud Connect, Enterprise Connect, Enterprise 2.0, GDC, and Black Hat. Marco came to UBM from MediaLive International where he was Vice President of Sales. Prior to this, Marco served as Group Director of the Software Development Group at CMP Media where he was Publisher of SD Magazine, oversaw the Software Development Events Group and managed related websites. Marco holds a B.A. in Economics from University of California, Berkeley.

Lori was appointed Managing Director of UBM’s Advanced Manufacturing business in November 2015 overseeing the operational, P&L and strategic direction of the business. Prior to that appointment, Lori was EVP of North America Event Operations and Services where she focused on developing best practices across UBM North America events. Lori joined UBM in 1989 and held a number of progressively senior positions with UBM. Prior to joining UBM, Lori was a staff accountant for a small, woman-owned business focused on providing accounting and financial services to small businesses in manufacturing, technology and trade show industries.

Mike Alic is Managing Director for UBM’s Fashion business unit, overseeing 10 annual marketplaces in New York and Las Vegas that unite over 7,000 brands, 100,000 retailers, and countless industry influencers. Previously, Mike was Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for UBM Americas. Mike came to UBM with the acquisition of Advanstar Communications, Inc. where he served as SVP of Strategy and Business Development. Prior to joining Advanstar, Mike ran his own consulting business, and served as an equity research analyst as well as held several management, marketing, and business development positions at Trader Classified Media. He has a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from INSEAD.

Thomas Ehardt brings more than 30 years of B2B media experience to his role as Executive Vice President & Senior Managing Director of UBM Life Sciences. Previously with Advanstar Communicaitons, Inc., Tom was Executive Vice President, Life Sciences in addition to holding the Chief Financial Officer role. Before joining Advanstar, Mr. Ehardt served as Chief Executive Officer for the Advogent Group within the Platinum Equity Group, and held the position of CEO at Jobson Publishing Group. He earned a BA in Accounting at Pace University, and an MBA in Finance from Long Island University, graduating Valedictorian.

Jaime Salazar is the Managing Director for UBM Mexico where he oversees a number of leading brands in the advanced manufacturing, hospitality and construction verticals to name a few. Jaime came to UBM after holding a series of increasingly senior positions with Comercio Informa and professional associations such as AMPROFEC, where he was chairman of the board. Jaime also launched his own company, Vanexpo, where he organized a number of important exhibitions including Expo Electrica Internacional, which was in the top ten in Mexico. Prior to this, Jaime worked with the Mexico City National Chamber of Commerce, most recently serving as CEO of Expo-Reforma. Jaime graduated from the Mexico National University (UNAM) with a degree in Economics; holds an MBA from the Panamerican Institute of Enterprise (IPADE) and a Certificate in International Economics from Texas A&M University.

Jean-François Quentin is the President of UBM Brazil where he is tasked with leading South America’s business growth and leading brands. Before joining UBM, he served as Chief Executive Officer at EasyFairs and was one of the founding members of easyFairs' management team. Jean-François has served in a number of senior positions in both finance and business development in Europe and the United States. He graduated with a MA in Communication from the University of Paris and an MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco, California.
